Heh... I'm making such a fool of myself, and I love it! Though that grocery bill was a wee bit, just a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit, bigger than I thought it would be... I can't keep that sort of thing up, financially, for very long =P

But then again, "What do YOU care what other people think?"

We did a picnic. I made, keeping in mind it's a picnic and things have to be good cold or room temp:

1) salmon and pesto spread: the verdict seemed to be that she enjoyed the pesto/cream cheese layers, but not the salmon layer, as it was from a can and her dad brings her smoked salmon from work, and therefore canned salmon didn't measure up and was inedible. I personally really enjoyed this dish.

2) deviled eggs, Greek style: in with the yolk/mustard/vinegar, feta, olives, and oregano. I had one, she had none. I made these because I knew she likes olives, but apparently she doesn't like deviled eggs. But this sort of thing is why one makes more than one dish (don't put all your eggs in one basket, heehee, eggs)!

3) spinach quiche: OK, I think I kinda bollocksed up the cooking time on this one, as there was far too much quiche for the pie shell... but it turned out alright, and she finished one piece, so it must have been good enough.

4) chocolate mousse: turned out well, just as it always does. Served in those small (140 mL or so) plastic "wine glasses." She didn't finish hers, but claimed she never finishes mousse as it's too rich. Which in this case makes sense, as this mousse (I'm sure you've had some, but if NOT, for your next baking we'll make sure there are eggs, chocolate, and butter present, and I'll make it for you) is VERY rich... I remember mousse-eating contests which ended very badly.

To drink, sparking apple juice. The bottle emptied. I considered alcoholic beverages but decided that such a course of action would be against my personal ethics and principles.

I'm gonna make the food do double-time (so many leftovers) as birthday dinner for my Dad on Sunday =D

The end result was a brief kiss as she left the 99 at Granville. I think it went well overall.

I'll be moving in/out soon too!

Pedro is moving out with Claire July 1st, and Mike is gonna look for another place by then too. So that's when I'm moving out of this place. This place is a bit of a hole, and it's not worth the bother to me of finding two new roomies, or the subsequent bother of collecting money from two strangers. I'll probably try to find some other UBC guys looking for another roomie and try to move in with them. Unless anyone here needs a roommate!
